National Team, World Championships Day 1 rainout

Team USA was forced to cancel its first game of the World Youth Baseball Championship due to inclement weather in Taiwan.

Team USA was scheduled to play Puerto Rico in the opening round of the 31st World Youth Baseball Championship in Taichung, Taiwan on Monday, but the game was postponed due to inclement weather. The earlier game between Mexico and the Czech Republic was also rained out.

“The games that were not played on the first day will be played on the 8th, the reserve day,” national team coach Lee Young-bok told MHN Sports. On the 8th, we will face Puerto Rico at 8 p.m., and tomorrow (the 2nd) is against Chinese Taipei. It’s a really important game,” he said, adding that the team will play the next two days.먹튀검증

The team also had to deal with bad weather at last year’s U-23 World Championships in Taiwan. Despite the challenges, the team finished as runners-up, led by Lee Sang-young (LG), Yoon Dong-hee (Lotte) and Song Seung-hwan (Doosan).

Meanwhile, Group B action in Taipei continued as normal. The United States earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Netherlands, while Panama defeated Venezuela 13-4 and Japan swept Spain 8-0 to round out the first day’s action.
